危ない危ない。
他の話題で投稿していたものの、このシリーズは前回の投稿から2週間が経過してました。危ない危ない、また”途中棄権”するとこだった・・・
さ、前回はイングランド。イングランド→イン○ランド→イン○○ンド→イン○○○ド・・・というわけで、今回はインドでございます。
また飲んだことのないビールに出会いました。
それが”KINGFISHER PREMIUM”。
南インドで1915年から歴史があるUnited Breweriesが醸造しているこのビール。インド国内では34%のシェアがあり、No.1ブランドなんだそうです。前もこんな文章を書いたような・・・Kronenbourg 1664のときかな？インド以外でも、52ヶ国で飲まれているようです。
そのUnited Breweries、F1のForce India F1 Teamのスポンサーであり、さらにKINGFISHER Airlineなる航空会社まで抱えてます。すごいね！日本で例えるなら、サントリーがトヨタF1(もうないけど・・・)をスポンサードしながら、一方でエビス航空を抱えるような・・・そんなイメージ？！
ちなみにそのKINGFISHER Airlineは、エアバス機を約70機抱え、数年後には総2階建の巨大機A380を5機保有することになるんだそうです。そして、初めは国内線のみだったものの、最近では海外にも手を広げ、香港やバンコク、ロンドン、そして近い将来にはアメリカへも飛ばすようになるらしい・・・いつかのANAのような感じ。てことは、ANAは実はサントリーの子会社？！そんなイメージですね。あくまでイメージ。
脱線しました。
このKINGFISHER PREMIUM、一口目はまずパンチの強さに驚きました。SAMUEL ADAMSやNew Castleに比べて、とにかく(良い意味で)刺激が強い！SAMUEL ADAMSとかが「シュワシュワ」だとしたら、KINGFISHERは「パチパチ」でしょうか。
そして、口から鼻に抜けるその香りは、バジルのようであったりパイナップルのようであったり。麦の風味が弱いように僕は感じましたが、爽やかで軽やかでありがながら飲み応え十分なビールだと思いました。
辛口のカレー&ナンとの相性が抜群であることは言うまでもありません。美味しくいただけます。タンドリーチキンもいいですね。ケンタッキーのチキンも、もちろん合うでしょう！やべ、胃が暴れてる・・・
近所に美味しそうなインドカレーの店を見つけました。今日はもう閉店してるだろうから、近いうちに行ってみようと思います。行って、そのペアリングで満腹になろうと思います。
